Indented Text

Indented text is also marked with the @rendition attribute, which is embedded in the <hi> element or a block element of the DTA element selection. The position of the text is transmitted as a value of the @rendition attribute:

Attribute Value Pair Meaning
rendition="#et" indented text
rendition="#c" centered
rendition="#right" right-aligned
Note: Alternative regulation phase 1: Indented text is tagged with the <hi> element. The position of the text is transmitted in the @rendition attribute as one of the above-mentioned values.

Indentations and centerings in headings, lists and tables are generally not tagged separately in the DTA corpus. Texts captured using OCR are an exception.

Attention: In the following example, in addition to indented text, there are various other formattings (i. e. spaced letters, bold, right-aligned).
