Dealing with External Sources for the DTA Text Basis `(//respStmt)`

External text resources that are integrated into the DTA corpora within the framework of DTAEreceive a Responsibility Statement in which their authors and, if applicable, editors are named and their participation in the text production or processing is described.

Depending on whether individuals or institutions/organizations/project groups are responsible for the text resource, these are displayed in the <persName> or <orgName> element.

The <orgName> element can get a @ref attribute for specifying a resource (using URL), which refers to additional information about the mentioned organization, such as the corresponding dataset in the Gemeinsame Normdatei (Integrated Authority File, GND).

Further information on responsibility is provided in the <resp> element of the Responsibility Statements. This can have different subelements:

<note type="remarkResponsibility">: Information on the type of responsibility.
<note type="remarkRevisionDTA">: Indicates that, as part of the integration into the DTA and DTA quality assurance, external text resources are further processed and edited (e. g. by converting the annotation to the DTA basic format, by correcting transcription errors and misprints or by further linguistic editing); this is only indicated if the <respStmt> addresses a full text underlying the DTA edition.
<date type="importDTA">: The point in time at which the external resource was integrated into the DTA in its given editing status. The date should have the following format: yyyy-mm-dd"T"hh:mm:ss"Z", e. g.: 2014-04-08T13:09:00Z.
<ref target="[URL]"/>: Reference to the place of origin of the integrated resource (as URL). This element remains empty.

If a transcription of the work on which the DTA publication is based is described in more detail in a Responsibility Statement, the <respStmt> element receives a unique @xml:id. Via a @corresp attribute, it is linked with an <availability> element within the Publication Statements of the File Description, which specifies the license of the underlying transcription. If no license is known, this will be noted accordingly in the <licence>-element of the <availability>-element (see chap. License Details). Nevertheless, a link to the corresponding <respStmt> is established.
