Additions and Deletions
Secondary changes of the author or a later editor to the manuscript may occur in the form of deletions or additions. For this purpose, the elements <add>
(addition) and <del>
(deletion) are used.
<add>[addition]</add>
<del>[deletion]</del>
In the case of an addition, the <add>
element can be enhanced with an @place
attribute specifying the place of the addition. The following values of @place
are possible:

In the case of deletion, the type of deletion is indicated with the @rendition
attribute of the <del>
